Sports Training is based on the Pyramidal Model of Athletic Performance.  At the four corners of the pyramid are Skill, Strength, Speed, and Endurance. 

We work to develop all four corners of the pyramid to improve your athletic performance. 

At TheraPlus, we begin with a musculoskeletal assessment by a physical therapist.  The assessment will examine your alignment, posture, strength, balance, joint motion, flexibility, explosiveness, movement patterns, and goals.  A treatment plan is then developed based on your strengths and areas of possible improvement.  

We use a conjugated periodization model to develop numerous athletic qualities at one time.  Exercises are cycled to push your body for maximal adaptations through constant change. 

Typical periodization is structured this way:

4 weeks of Endurance Training
4 weeks of Strength Training
4 weeks of Power Training
4 weeks of Speed Training

With conjugated periodization, strength, speed, power, and endurance are all addressed simultaneously to help you perform optimally all season long, with a terrific peak at the climax of the season instead of gambling on peaking for only one event. 

While improving your base of conditioning and sport specific athletic abilities, we also address movement quality issues to minimize the likelihood of injury.  We want to maximize not only your success but also your longevity in your sport.
